Book of Creation Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 23, 2026
This policy explains what information 7th Reality Games, LLC ("we," "us"), a Maine company, collects when you use the Book of Creation (the "app"), how we use it, and who can see it. It goes with our Terms & Conditions.
The short version
- We collect only what the app needs to work.
- Other signed-in users can see your public profile. Among other users, only your campaign-mates can see your email address.
- We don't sell your information or use it for ads.
- You can delete your account yourself at any time.
1. What We Collect
- Your account: your email address and how you sign in (Google or email and password). Passwords are handled by Google Firebase; we never see them.
- Your profile: your username (also your display name) and, if you add them, a bio, avatar, preferred Setting, and Looking for a Group status, plus any badges you earn.
- What you create: characters (including portrait images), campaigns, homebrew, notes, and everything else you enter in the app. When a Narrator invites someone by email, we store that address with the invite.
- Safety records: accounts you block and reports you file.
- Technical information: Google Analytics collects standard usage information (pages viewed, device and browser type, and approximate location based on IP address). Google reCAPTCHA checks that visitors are real people and not bots. Our hosting provider keeps routine server logs.
- On your device: the app saves some information in your browser to keep you signed in and remember your settings. Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA use cookies for the purposes above. We don't use advertising cookies.
2. How We Use It
We use your information only to run and improve the app. That covers signing you in, syncing your characters and campaigns, sending account emails (verification, password reset, password-change alerts) and campaign invites, powering Looking for a Group, keeping the community safe, answering your requests, and understanding in general how the app is used so we can improve it. We don't send marketing emails from the app. We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
3. Who Can See What
- Any signed-in user can see your public profile, and a campaign's listing details: its name, description, image, Setting, number of seats, whether it's looking for players, its Narrator's username, and which accounts belong to it. Your email address is never on your public profile.
- Members of a campaign can see each other's username and email address, plus the campaign's shared tools (party roster, group resources, combat tracker, homebrew, and the notes the Narrator shares).
- You and the campaign's Narrator can see your full character sheet in that campaign. The Narrator's private session notes and encounter plans are visible only to the Narrator.
- Our team can look up an account when needed for support, safety reports, or legal reasons. That lookup is read-only and every lookup is logged. Separately, the team can remove content and restrict or close accounts as described in our Terms & Conditions (Section 7), and can delete an account when its owner asks or as described in Section 7. Reports are seen only by our team, except as described in Section 4.
4. Services We Use
The app runs on Google services: Firebase (hosting, database, sign-in, and server functions), Google Analytics, and Google reCAPTCHA. We also use an email provider to send account and invite emails. These providers handle information only to run the app for us. Google's Privacy Policy applies to its services. We may also share information if the law requires it or to protect someone's safety.
5. Keeping and Deleting Your Information
We keep your information while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time with "Delete my account" on your profile page. If you narrate a campaign that still has other players, hand it off or close it first. Except as described below, deletion immediately removes your sign-in account, profile, username, email address, characters that aren't in a campaign, block list, and your membership and character in every campaign. Campaigns you run alone are deleted too.
A few things stay: content you added to a campaign's shared tools stays with that campaign for its other players; safety reports are kept for safety and legal reasons; records of emails we sent and invites a Narrator sent to your address remain; and Google keeps analytics data and server logs under its own retention settings. If you can't sign in, email us and we'll delete your account for you.
6. Your Choices
You can view and edit your information in the app, turn off Looking for a Group, block other accounts, leave campaigns, and delete your account. To get a copy of your data, or to ask any privacy question, email bryan@7threalitygames.com from your account's email address. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser; the app still works if Analytics is blocked. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, and we'll honor those requests too.
7. Children
The app is for people 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we'll close it and delete its data as described in Section 5. Parents or guardians can reach us at bryan@7threalitygames.com.
8. Security
We protect your information with encrypted connections, strict database access rules, bot protection, and limited, logged team access. No system is perfectly secure. If a security problem affects your information, we'll let you know as the law requires.
9. Changes and Contact
The app is currently free. We'll update this policy as the app changes, and before any paid features arrive, since those would add a payment provider. We'll change the date at the top, and for important changes we'll tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. Questions: bryan@7threalitygames.com.
